How to unlock all biomes
20B opens the last one. The useful part is the shape of the curve getting there — the final step alone is 65% of all the Speed in the game.

Gates are thresholds, not costs
This trips people up constantly, so it is worth stating first: you do not add the gates together. Speed is a stat you raise, not a currency you spend. Reaching 20B means every biome below it is already open — you do not pay 900 for the first one and then start again.
So the answer to "how much Speed to unlock everything" is one number: 20B. One biome has no requirement at all and is open from the start.
Every gate, and the jump to reach it
| Biome | Gate | Jump from previous | Multiple |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lake | 900 | 900 | — |
| Desert | 10K | 9.1K | 11× |
| Jungle | 40K | 30K | 4.0× |
| Snow | 170K | 130K | 4.3× |
| Volcano | 700K | 530K | 4.1× |
| Abyss Ocean | 2.5M | 1.8M | 3.6× |
| Prehistoric | 17M | 14.5M | 6.8× |
| Cosmic | 700M | 683M | 41× |
| Cherry Blossomalso: Feed a Crane to the Cherry Blossom Tree to open the region | 2.5B | 1.8B | 3.6× |
| Titan Temple | 7B | 4.5B | 2.8× |
| Angels and Demons | 20B | 13B | 2.9× |
Halfway by Speed is not halfway by biome
Half of 20B is 10B. At that point you have 10 of 11 gates behind you — the curve is so lopsided that most of the map sits inside the bottom fraction of the stat.
The steepest single multiple is Cosmic, which asks 41× what the biome before it did. That is the wall people describe when they say they stalled, and it is where the Saturday Admin Abuse multipliers stop being a bonus and become the practical route through.
What actually raises Speed
One free source, unlimited, and everything else is a multiplier on it:
- The treadmill generates Speed continuously and its upgrades are paid for with pet income. This is the engine; everything else scales it.
- Trails multiply the rate rather than adding to it, which is why a trail bought early in a step is worth more than the same money spent at the end of it.
- The free 10,000 for liking, favouriting and joining the group — worth claiming immediately, worth nothing later.
- Event multipliers during Admin Abuse, which is the only thing that moves a41× wall in a single session.
The order to buy them in is on how to get Speed fast, and the Speed guide has each source with its sourcing.
Is unlocking everything worth it?
For completion, that is your call. For income, the honest answer is no — the gates rise far faster than the rosters behind them pay. A full roster in the best value biome returns vastly more per point of Speed than one at the top, which best biome for pets works through with the numbers.
The case for the top gates is the pets themselves. Kitsune at $1.8B/s is the highest published income in the game, and it is not reachable any other way. Just go in knowing you are buying one pet, not an upgrade to your income curve. The speed calculator will tell you what that costs in hours before you commit.
Unlocking biomes FAQ
How much Speed do you need to unlock all biomes in Steal An Egg?
20B Speed opens the last one, Angels and Demons. Gates are absolute thresholds rather than costs you pay, so you do not add them up — reaching 20B means every earlier biome is already open.
What is the hardest biome to unlock?
Angels and Demons. Getting there from Titan Temple means finding 13B more Speed, which is more than every gate before it added together.
Do you have to unlock biomes in order?
Effectively yes. Each gate is higher than the last, so clearing one means every earlier one is already behind you. The exceptions are the extra requirements — a couple of biomes need something besides Speed.
Which biomes need more than Speed?
Cherry Blossom: Feed a Crane to the Cherry Blossom Tree to open the region.
How long does unlocking everything take?
There is no honest fixed answer, because it depends entirely on your treadmill rate and pet income, both of which change as you go. The speed calculator works it out from your own two numbers rather than quoting an average that fits nobody.
Where these figures come from
Speed gates come from the biome dataset behind this site, each with its own sources and check date. The jumps, multiples and shares are our own arithmetic on those figures.
