Best biome for pets

Ranked by what a biome returns for the Speed it costs to enter, rather than by how strong its best pet is. On that measure Snow beats Cherry Blossom by about 404×.

"Best" is two different questions

Almost every tier list on this subject ranks biomes by how strong their best pet is. That always puts the last biome first, and it tells you nothing you did not already know — of course the hardest area holds the best pet. It also does not answer the question people are actually asking, which is where to spend the next session.

The figure that answers that is income per point of Speed. A gate costs you grinding time; the roster behind it pays you back. Divide one by the other and the ranking changes almost completely.

Return on Speed, ranked

BiomeGateFull rosterIncome per Speed
Snow170K$70.5M/s415
Volcano700K$193M/s276

Prehistoric17M$240M/s14

Cherry Blossom2.5B$2.6B/s1.0

"Income per Speed" is a complete roster's income per second divided by the biome's Speed gate. Titan Temple and Angels and Demons are missing from this table because no per-second income is published for their pets — we do not estimate one to fill a row.

Why the ratio collapses toward the end

Speed requirements in this game do not step, they multiply — each gate is a multiple of the one before it, and the multiples get larger as you climb. Pet income climbs too, but the strongest pet in one biome is rarely more than a few times the strongest in the last. Two geometric series with very different ratios pull apart fast, and the return on Speed is what falls out of the gap.

This is not an argument for never moving up. It is an argument against treating the next gate as the default use of a session. If what you want is income, the biome you can already enter is usually paying better per hour than the one you are grinding toward.

If you want the single strongest pet

That is a different answer: Cherry Blossom, which holds Kitsune at $1.8B/s — the highest published figure in the game. It also sits near the bottom of the table above, which is the trade-off stated plainly: the best pet is behind the worst return on Speed.

Both things can be true at once because one pet is not a roster. If you get the top pet out of Cherry Blossom, you have most of that biome's value; if you get one of the others, you have very little of it. How much money pets make has the distribution behind that.

What to actually do

Best biome FAQ

What is the best biome for pets in Steal An Egg?

It depends which question you are asking. For the strongest single pet it is Cherry Blossom, home to Kitsune at $1.8B/s. For the best return on the Speed it costs to get in, it is Snow — a complete roster there earns 415 per second for every point of Speed in its gate, against 1.0 for Cherry Blossom.

Which biome gives the most income per Speed spent?

Snow. Its gate is 170K and a full roster there earns $70.5M/s. Cherry Blossom asks 14,706× more Speed and returns only 36.4× more income, which is why the ratio falls so far.

Should I rush to the highest biome?

Not for income per hour of grinding. Gates rise faster than the rosters behind them pay, so each biome past the middle of the game returns less for every point of Speed it costs. Rushing makes sense when you want a specific pet, not when you want income.

Which biome should I farm the longest?

Snow and Volcano have the two highest returns on Speed, so a session spent opening eggs there is worth more than the same session spent grinding toward the next gate. Move up when you have what you came for, not on a schedule.

Where these figures come from

Speed gates and rosters come from the biome and pet datasets behind this site, each with its own sources and check date. The ratio is our own calculation from those two figures, not a number published anywhere.
