Steal An Egg Speed: the only wall in the game

Speed decides which biomes you can enter and whether you get back out alive. It is also the one stat you can raise indefinitely for free — here is every source, ranked by how much it is actually worth.

Data on this page last checked . Steal An Egg updates every Saturday — report a change.

Treadmill

In-game cashRepeatable

The only unlimited free source of Speed. It spawns directly in front of your base and is unlocked by upgrading your garden for $1,000. Standing on it generates Speed continuously, and every upgrade raises the per-second rate. Every dollar your pets earn should go here first.

Free Rewards (like, favourite, group)

FreeOne-time

Open the free rewards panel and complete the like, favourite and group-join steps for 10,000 Speed total. One-time, takes under a minute, and it skips you straight past the Lake gate at 900 Speed. Do this before anything else.

Trails

In-game cashOne-time

Bought from the Trail Shop with in-game cash. A trail applies a Speed multiplier on top of whatever the treadmill gives you, so it compounds. The Divine Trail carries the highest multiplier currently available.

Index Rewards

In-game cashRepeatable

Hatching a pet species you have never owned unlocks an Index reward paying out Speed and cash. Rarer first-time pets pay more, which makes variety worth chasing rather than farming one egg repeatedly.

Admin Abuse event boosts

FreeRepeatable

During the Saturday Admin Abuse window the developers stack Speed multipliers game-wide. Players routinely use it to sprint to Cosmic, grab an egg and get back to base in seconds — runs that would be impossible at their normal Speed.

Speed packs (Robux)

RobuxRepeatable

The in-game shop sells Speed packs for Robux. They are a straight time-skip, not a requirement — every biome in the game is reachable free through the treadmill and trail loop.

The loop that actually works

Progression in this game is one tight cycle, and players who fight it stall:

  1. Pets in your base generate income.
  2. Income buys treadmill upgrades, which raise Speed per second.
  3. Speed unlocks the next biome.
  4. The next biome has better pets, which generate more income.

The common mistake is skipping step two — hoarding cash, or spending it on cosmetics, and then wondering why the next gate feels impossible. The second mistake is forcing a run into a biome you cannot escape from. Both cost more time than they save.

Treadmill adds, trails multiply

This is the single most useful thing to understand about Speed. Treadmill upgrades add to your per-second rate. Trails apply a multiplier on top of whatever that rate is. Because the multiplier compounds with every future treadmill upgrade too, a trail bought early is worth more than the same money spent on one more treadmill tier — and the gap widens the longer you play.

Remember these are entry floors. Aim for two to three times the requirement before carrying an egg out. To turn that into an actual number of hours, put your Speed and treadmill rate into the planner.

Speed FAQ

How do you get Speed fast in Steal An Egg?

Claim the free 10,000 Speed first (like, favourite, join the group), then put every dollar of pet income into treadmill upgrades and buy a better trail whenever you can afford one. Trails multiply, so they usually beat another treadmill tier at the same price.

What is the treadmill in Steal An Egg?

The only unlimited free source of Speed. It spawns in front of your base and is unlocked by upgrading your garden for $1,000. Standing on it generates Speed continuously, and each upgrade raises the per-second rate.

Do you need Robux to progress?

No. Speed packs are a time-skip, not a requirement — every biome in the game is reachable through the treadmill and trail loop alone.

What is the best trail?

The Divine Trail carries the highest Speed multiplier currently available in the Trail Shop.

How much Speed do I need for each biome?

Lake 900, Desert 10K, Jungle 40K, Snow 170K, Volcano 700K, Abyss Ocean 2.5M, Prehistoric 17M, Cosmic 700M and Cherry Blossom 2.5B. Forest has no requirement.
