What the catalog figures measure

The reference condition is default size with no mutation. Among entries with a published base figure, Chicken has the lowest listed rate at $1/s and Kitsune has the highest at $1.8B/s.

Of the 80 income records, 12 are marked as corroborated or verified in-game; the remaining 68 are marked single-source or unconfirmed. Another 35 listed pets have no comparable base rate. Those missing figures are excluded, so “highest listed” does not mean the strongest possible pet in the current game.

Listed base-income ranges by rarity

The ranges show how much the known species in each rarity differ. They are not average hatch returns, and the record count is not a probability. An unknown rate is not treated as zero.

Use the listed income ranking to compare individual species. A rarity label alone does not supply the income of a specific pet, and an unusually high catalog value does not tell you how likely you are to obtain it.

Calculate your pen's income and a replacement gain

Add the rates of pets that can earn simultaneously. For example, pets displaying $20/s, $50/s and $80/s give a combined $150/s. An unused slot contributes zero. This is an illustrative collection, not a recommended roster.

Replacing the $20/s pet with one earning $90/s adds $70/s. The new total is $220/s, not $240/s: the pet being replaced no longer contributes. If you instead have a free earning slot, adding the $90/s pet raises the original total to $240/s.

For a fixed number of earning slots, compare the actual rate of the replacement with the pet leaving the slot. Summing every species in the catalog would describe a hypothetical collection rather than your usable income, so it cannot establish how much a typical player earns.

Convert a rate into earning time

Earning seconds = remaining cash needed ÷ effective income per second. If an upgrade costs $30,000, you have $12,000 and your pen earns $150/s, the remaining $18,000 takes 120 earning seconds, or 2 minutes, at a constant rate.

These are arithmetic projections for one continuously earning pet, from zero cash, without spending or rate changes. “Under 1 earning second” describes a mathematical result, not the game's payout tick or a promise of instant collection. Offline rate limits, collection caps and boost expiry can change elapsed real-world time.

Mutations, size and the limits of a forecast

The mutation reference lists published factors separately from mutations with an unknown factor. For a conditional example, a $100/s base and a verified 1.5× factor would produce $150/s if that factor applies to the base under the game's rules.

There is no verified exact size curve in this guide, so no “maximum possible income” is calculated by combining an estimated Huge factor with the strongest catalog entry. Read how to compare pet sizes before using a size assumption in the income calculator.

After an update, verify the rate on pets you already own before relying on an older forecast. If it changes, note the date, size, mutation and boosts; that makes it possible to distinguish a balance change from a different comparison condition.

Subtract current cash from the target price, then divide the remaining amount by your total effective income per second. The result is earning seconds, assuming the rate stays constant and you do not spend money during that period.
