How the Rift boss fight works

The fight is not a damage race against the boss. Crystals light up around the arena, andhitting the highlighted crystals is what drains its health — attacking the boss directly does far less. Players describe clearing a fight in a couple of minutes once they work that out.

The one thing that reliably kills you is the red circle it places on the floor. Move out of it. Everything else in the fight is survivable.

What the bosses drop

Three kills earns one Rift egg — the walkthroughs call it a Rift Born Egg. Kills also drop Boss Tokens, which are spent in the rift's own shop.

The item worth saving for is a mutation consumable. It applies the new Fractured mutation to a pet you already own, which makes it the first mutation in the game that does not depend on what hatches out of an egg. How large its multiplier is has not been published, so it is not on themutations table yet.

There is also an exchange inside the rift — the prompt reads “exchange animals into the rift to unlock exclusive eggs”, so pets can be traded in for egg types not available elsewhere. The exchange rates have not been documented.

The Hungry Monster event has ended

The Rift update replaced it. Infested eggs no longer spawn and the monster is gone from the pen area. Pets hatched from Monstrous Eggs stay in your collection — there is just no longer a route to more. Therecord of how that event worked is still here.

When this update actually landed

Roblox recorded it at 13:42 Pacific on Saturday. That matters because the previous week's update landed at 14:19 Pacific on a Friday — both in the afternoon, and not immediately after the Admin Abuse window that community sources place at 08:00 Pacific.

The update time page has been corrected to say so. If you are waiting for a patch, the afternoon is the window to watch, and the day is no longer reliably Saturday.
