Where the game starts
Forest is the only biome with no Speed requirement, which makes it the one place the game lets you learn the loop without punishing you for it. Everything after this is the same four steps at higher stakes: take an egg, outrun the guardian, hatch it, spend the income on Speed.
The mistake that costs new players the most time is treating Forest as something to leave as fast as possible. It is not. Two things here compound:
- Index rewards. Hatching a species you have never owned pays out Speed and cash, and rarer first-timers pay more. Early on, a new species is worth more than another copy of one you already have — so hatch variety, not volume.
- The free 10,000 Speed. Liking the game, favouriting it and joining the group takes under a minute and clears the next gate outright. A surprising number of players grind for an hour before finding that panel.
The ceiling here is Brr Brr Patapim at $1.8K/s. That is small against what comes later, but it is what funds the treadmill upgrades that get you out — and the treadmill is the only unlimited free source of Speed in the game.

The Chicken
The Chicken is the gentlest guardian in the game. It moves slowly enough that a brand-new account can outrun it while carrying an egg, which is why Forest is where the game teaches you the loop without punishing you.
